Sakura Japanese Restaurant

Brecksville, OH– Located in what I could call Downtown Brecksville, Ohio between a supermarket and a Panera Bread is Sakura Japanese Restaurant. We found it one day this past summer while looking for a supermarket. I can only review their takeout, since taking 2 toddlers to Hibachi alone is not a bright idea. Even for me. And I love Hibachi. I ordered from their menu with some suggestions from the very kind host. They have everything from sushi to vegetarian to Thai to Japanese. Even kid bento boxes! We tried the Avocado Sushi Roll ($4.50), Hibachi Chicken Dinner ($16.95) and the Thai Cashew Chicken Dinner ($14.50). Both dinners came with miso soup, white rice and salad with dressing on the side. The Hibachi Chicken also comes with 2 shrimp, plain fried rice, and mixed vegetables (incl onions, mushrooms, carrots & zucchini). The Cashew Chicken had lots of cashews, chicken, sauce, & veggies. The portions were so big! And I was so surprised at the quality of the food, especially that they used only chicken breast meat in the dishes.

Since we stop in Brecksville about 10-15 times a year, I know we will become regulars there. I liked it so much, I am looking forward to trying many more of their offerings! I even brought a bunch of menus back to my hotel for the front desk!  After reviewing the website, I like them even more… How can you resist a place who uses “Imagine” by John Lennon on their site!

One thing: It is a 15 minute drive from the Ohio Turnpike/ Rte 80. Then a 20 minute wait for the order. But, it is worth the wait! Besides, we went for frozen yogurt a few doors down at LemonBerry to kill the time.
